Fidelis Morgan and Celia Imrie promise to deliver a dynamite evening
quite unlike any usual author appearance. You will have readings from 17th century plays, extracts from the humorous Countess
de la Zouche novels, a Restoration acting lesson, some seventeenth century recipes, and they will end with a little
sing-song, a Q&A and signing of whatever you care to buy or bring along...
FIDELIS MORGAN
( author of the Countess Ashby de la Zouche historical mystery series) is an actress as well as playwright, novelist, and
scholar. She has published 15 books, fiction and non-fiction, which are translated all over the world. She frequently gives
university talks on life in Restoration London, having been responsible for the rediscovery and revival of the female playwrights
who worked in London between 1660 and 1720. Fidelis has been seen on US TV in Jeeves and Wooster,
As Time Goes By and Dead Gorgeous. She has received nominations for her
acting from The Observer and her novel, The Rival Queens, was nominated for a Lefty Award at
Left Coast Crime. http://www.fidelismorgan.com
CELIA IMRIE Described by The Times
as one of the most successful British actresses of recent decades, Olivier Award-winning Celia Imrie is probably
best known as one of the naked Calendar Girls in the 2003 British comedy film (with Helen Mirren
& Julie Walters). She has appeared in many films from Hilary & Jackie, Brigit Jones Diary to Highlander
and Star Wars - The Phantom Menace. On TV she has featured in cult series from Absolutely Fabulous
and Stephen Fry's Kingdom to Return to Cranford. On stage Celia had
a huge off-Broadway hit a few years back with her one-woman show Unsuspecting Susan. Celia
also gave a searing performance as Vera in the TV production of Ruth Rendell's A Dark Adapted Eye.
Now Celia is involved in the TV production of Fidelis Morgan's Countess Ashby dela Zouche historical mystery novels.
